Recommended to: So Allen is one of the pioneers of self-help books which clearly indicates in his work. He’s not tried to make it too lengthy to make the concept complicated. Hence, it’s recommended to anyone who’s trying to overcome the bad habit of over-thinking. Because at the end, whatever we saw, so shall we reap.
Inspired me to learn about:
The books basically deals about everything that has a lot about taking the responsibility of your own. It’s always easy to blame the external factors such as the weather, the economy, politics, your co-workers, your boss, whether you have good luck or bad luck, your life depends on so many things you can’t influence. But it’s not as black and white as that. Your actions have proven that somewhere your mind would have thought about it. Hence, to have a by-default filter on your thoughts is important to make your life easier.
3 takeaways from the book:
“A man’s mind may be likened to a garden, which may be intelligently cultivated or allowed to run wild; but whether cultivated or neglected, it must, and will, bring forth. If no useful seeds are put into it, then an abundance of useless weed seeds will fall therein, and will continue to produce their kind.”
“Circumstance does not make the man; it reveals him to himself.”
“A person is limited only by the thoughts that he chooses.”
