“Even Sleep Is A Prayer.” | Prompt #11

I’ve always heard, “A good laugh and a long sleep is one of the best cures in a doctor’s book.” But never realised the real power of it.

To be very honest, I am weird because I call myself a writer but my inspiration doesn’t come from my sleep, my dreams. Yes! A harsh truth. Many writers get their writing or prompt ideas in their sleeping patterns, and when they way up, they build up A story.

I’ve never been a person who gets any dreams. Or in a way, even if I get any, I cannot remember them. Cool, isn’t it? I used to be scared earlier until I met people who get really wild and weird dreams about how they’re walking from a murderer, or getting dived into a huge well, or finding zombies in their dreams.

I’m out of all the dramas. One of the major reasons that happen is because I don’t let my mind consume shit. I cannot tolerate that.

Our mind can only imagine things that we see with our eyes in the day time, the better you see, the best dreams you get. And the bad you watch, or read the worst you get.

So in today’s prompt number 11, Even Sleep Is A Prayer, I’m being grateful for the sleep that I consider it as a prayer for me.

The morning was not expected,
As I was dead at night
I have a problem with having dreams
I cannot remember dreams in my sight.

It’s the God who made things bright,
Waking up from the morning,
And being grateful is always right.

One prayer to bed, one comes when I rise
Good morning Krishna, thanks for another sunrise.

Sleep is the prayer that fuels my soul,
I completely surrender myself as whole.

I’m glad that there’s no dream that
I need to face unknowingly
As my God within me,
who always protects me glowingly.

My sleep understands the garbage,
it helps me being my friend
The evil, least interested to know him,
In my sleeping prayers, I filter everything
Whatever I don’t require, I always throw them.

There’s a tattoo in my right wrist
which I kiss that says, “Love U Mom”,
Before going to bed, and after waking up
It keeps me away from all the storm.

  1. You have a great sleep routine. I too mostly have dreamless sleep or if I get dreams I forget them. I remember few of them but that’s mostly my subconscious playing things that I dealt while being awake.

    1. Thank God! I actually am so relieved to know that I’m not the only one who doesn’t get them.

I’m agreeing on this part that a bit of it is remembered by our subconscious mind, but we cannot remember them much.

      1. Hahaha! Thats a relief to not get dreams. Most of the dreams I get are before and during exams where I am failing exams. My dreams are mostly confined to this or the crap I watch online but that’s a rare thing

      2. I once had been binged watch Harry Potter, all the parts in one day….later I met Voldermort in my dream. Once I was watching my cousins play God of War entire day. Though, I didn’t play yet I saw the characters in dreams. I try my best not to watch anything before sleep

      3. Never happened that way before. Like I said I dream about exams and just one or two instances with 2 things. Others I don’t remember😅

What about you? Any remembrance of some dream or parts?

      4. Lucky you! Not at all.

I’ve got an experience of reading books, characters, favorite movie scenes, motivational videos and what not.

        I cannot remember anything.

Funny part? I put on my ear phones, and start playing Mirchi Murga in loop on YouTube. Hahahah! I must be laughing in my dreams because of the pranks.

  2. Even I dont remember my dreams. I think I dream mostly about my book characters because I generally read before I sleep. But I envy people who remember their dreams. Its so cool na.. like those wild bizzare things which which you dreamt and then you narrate it to people. I get so upset as I dont get to do this 🙈
I love the poem its so positive.

    1. Oh my my! I’m actually on cloud nine tonight. Why did I not confess earlier about this over here. I can see a lot of people like me, now you are included too.

Please! No, we don’t have to envy them. I have friends who keep on telling me whatever they’ve seen in their dreams in the morning, and you won’t believe, it doesn’t feel any less than a scripted movie.
Just imagine yourself imagining all the characters in your head for half an hour or so. Never get into that trap! Hahah!

About the appreciation, I am in delight to know you loved it, Yeshu.

      1. This is such a fun. But you know what really good thing is? That we don’t have to suffer for that by our own.

I don’t know why, but at times, when I unfortunately remember anything in regards with a dream, I wake up in a fatigue. It doesn’t let my mind take rest.

      2. Well I think if we remember something bad then definitely its impossible to sleep. But I am talking about this movie types dreams. This will surely be fun to remember.
Once my sister have told me one thing. She was going through something bad and she dreamt something soo beautiful that she just got the fresh energy to view and fight things. I really understand the meaning of dreams then.

  3. I’m noticing one thing in your blogs off lately, it’s not fiction anymore, it wasn’t like that earlier too, but now your poems are so realistic, that one can feel it. It’s like the routine thing stated through rhymes, giving it a meter, which makes the thing creative.

I’m completely different from you as I see really weird dreams when I sleep, I sometimes see nightmares that don’t let me sleep.
But dreams or nightmares are all occasional, I love sleeping.

I never asked you but now I know what’s written on your hand. Nice haa. I liked how you related everything with sleep.

    1. Believe me, it took me a lot of time to actually share my heart out after so many years.

It was a very quick decision to share a story behind it. But I’m glad the decision is worth taking now.

You’ve got nightmares, and here we don’t even get dreams only haan!

You never knew about my tattoo?

  4. Haha, I remember years back you told me how you have no dreams and you were trying to find what’s the reason behind it. 😂🤦🏽‍♀️
    This poem was really lovely.

“One prayer to bed, one comes when I rise
Good morning Krishna, thanks for another sunrise”.

So perfect. We should always be grateful for a brand new day. 🥳

      1. It is in our hands to control what we consume, upto some limit. Because all the good and all the bad happens around us, afterall and we can’t decide to just see the good versions only.

But as upto the contents we consume, the content in our screen, we can control that and actually set our mind onto something beneficial for us.

      2. Living is an art in itself. Happiness is just a state of mind as we perceive it. How little its sources can be and yet how major events fail to fulfill the purpose of happiness.
        Afterall, its all in us.

  5. Success is overcoming every little fears, problems that comes ahead of us everyday on our way while achieving wisdom, and being better than yesterday.

Happiness is a state of mind, its how positively you craft happenings in life as, how humble you make yourself to achieve satisfaction with very less.

Struggles are every discomforts, be it physical, mental, emotional, spiritual that usually expects us to do more than our comfort levels.

      1. It’s 00:09 right now in Mumbai.

Shree, would you believe what’s happening out?

I cannot just describe how we’ve attracted this. Yes, it’s Raining here.

It’s all hot scorching summer and it’s raining so beautifully.

I’m at the end of my window, smelling the sense of mud, and drizzle on my face.

      2. One of the only reasons to tell you was that only.

Could you imagine the intensity our energies were carrying?

I was on my building terrace while reverting you a few minutes ago, and when I’m back to my room. Nature gave this surprise to me.

Could you sense the blessings of Krishna? When you get something you love that too unexpectedly.
