Lights! Camera! Action!

How does it feel to be on the TV for the first time? I am going to be appeared on a TV show called ‘Yuva Me Tanaav‘{Stress in Youth} (Don’t forget to watch the full show on March 16, 2016 at 3 PM and 11 PM on Doordarshan(Madhya Pradesh). And I must say, it was great. I had an amazing time with takes and retakes, the food was yummy(you have to say this, honestly I didn’t get anything to eat there. Lol!😂😂)and there were great behind-the-scenes jokes with camera person and my favourite Munshi Ji(you’ll come to know who’s Munshi Ji ;))

image

There was even a lady who tried her best to make my face TV-friendly. Needless to say, it was none other than make-up stylist Rekha Ji. But I hate what she has done to my face, it’s itching all the time. I wonder how can girls cope up with those heavy make up all day long! Huh!! Really a great job. By the way, I got to miss two-three days of college as I was preparing for my Script and topic. So yeah, I allowed her to do whatever she likes. 😅😅

image

So yeah, the topic was very sensible. We had to discuss about stress which today’s youth is facing. I got till the finals where we lost out miserably where we were lack of questions and answers for them. When our Munshi was forcing herself to ask more and more questions just because we had to extend the show a little more.

And to be honest, every time she encounters a new question, my heart beats used to beat faster as she says- ‘Sumit, aap ka iss vishay pe kya kehna hain?'( Sumit, what do you think about it)

image

I had taken more than 15+ shots just because of Munshi Ji(I call her Munshi ji, because during the event organising time, she was the one who had all the money) itne flaws aaye photos me Ki pucho mat..ye Nahi 1 aur, ye Nahi dusra 😂😂

Haha! But I had a great feeling about it and I was pretty sure I was going to be the talk of the town. Girls were finally gonna acknowledge my existence more and more, I thought. Haha!! Hey, don’t underestimate me, I’m already famous. 😎 I was all set to embrace my celebrity side. There was this Ranveer Singh roaming inside my head all the time. 😝

On the airing day, I waited with bated breath….and there I was! I was overjoyed to see my face on camera (something that doesn’t happen often).

image

Well, I became a celebrity (at least in my eyes) Yes, though it means a lot for my family members, BFF, friends, and specially my enemies. After all, they should also know this, no?😁
Its half an hour show, short time – a very short time. But yeah, this could be the big lesson and teaching for me to come on the biggest screen one day in future! 🙂
P.S. I’m just being an optimistic! 😀

image

None of my friends will bother to watch the show if I don’t remind them to watch it on Doordarshan. Haha! I’m joking they have already subscribed the channel just because of me. They want to see me on that square box. I Love you all for that. 😘

But, it was a great experience. It boosted my confidence level. My respect for myself increased a lot after that.

So yeah, now let’s talk a bit about the show, how we discussed things, what type of questions I was asked and who helped me in finding those question’s answers and gave me their precious time to help me to be the best ☺
Followings were the questions we were asked:

•What is stress?

•Reasons of stress?

•Symptoms of stress?

•How it affects the development?

•To which extent it affects you mentally?

•To which extent it affects you physically and mentally?

•How to manage/deal with it?

To answer these questions I tried to remember each and every thing which were related to stress in my life, how I used to feel when something related happens with me. And I tried to answer them in an organized way. After all I could not use any particular brand, name, parents’ fault, or any other activities which could create another controversy with the show or with channel itself. I didn’t want to ruin it. This is the format of all shows. So I did it accordingly. So my answer starts with this:

Stress is one of those latent enemy which might not be seen, but if not defeated can ruin the youthful blossom of one’s life.

Being stressed at a young age is the worst time to have it. Mostly because they are actually inexperienced and expected to act like a grown up.

A teenager is exposed to the outer world at once as he/she turns 18 or further 20 something i.e., after completing his/her so called education. Until then teenagers lives in a protected environment, mostly unaware of the real world. But when they face the reality i.e., competitive environment in academics or professional life; the truth strikes them that now they must do something instead of being lead by or provided by parents.

That’s when the pressure to perform begins. Pressure to excel in studies because quite a lot of finance is spent on it. Pressure to look good because everybody thinks that a college campus is nothing but a ramp. Pressure to be popular and so on. Its like all the hardships have coming rushing to him and only him.

And when one can’t cope up with all these expectations, he is disappointed. He would either try to find some other ways to achieve above things or loses self esteem. That’s when stress takes over him.

How to deal with it?

One mostly faces mental conflicts because of losing touch with his own self. When one stops having conversation with his own self. When one stops caring for his real well-being. When one starts living to please people around him instead of himself.

-Keep in touch with parents/elder siblings/cousins. Share your worries with the right person.

-Read good books. Good movies. That feels you with hope and positivism.

-Give space to spirituality. Meditate.

-Be contented with what you achieve after giving your best try.

-Accept the reality happily.

-Have a talk with yourself every single day.

And finally we got the gesture to wind up the show. And we were like *Agh*  it’s not that simple as we see in movies and serials. It has to go through with so many processes.

Anyways, I wish more and more Indians start watching DD News channel instead of other news channels which are mostly inclined towards one or other political party, run by business houses and sensationalize news for TRPs.

Reasons to watch DD News Channel:

Unbiased news.

No nonsense.

They completely understand difference between reporting and Judging people. Not distort the actual news to increase TRPLess Advertisement and most of their advertisement are also about PAN India schemes and initiatives taken by various ministries.

Few Facts too :

DD News, is India’s only 24-hour terrestrial TV news channel. Its terrestrial reach is 21.6% by area and 44.9% by population of India DD News App for mobile (iOS & Android) is available.

P.S. : I neither work for Doordarshan nor was paid for writing these facts :).

P.P.S. : That’s a different thing that I actually got paid for my show. Haha! 😁😁

P.P.P.S. : Thank you so much Mana Didu and Chandni Asnani (Chandu) for helping me in writing the script. 😘

And thank you to you too for taking your time out and read my post. Tell me how do you like it, by commenting in the comment box below. And don’t forget to watch the full show on March 16, 2016 at 3 PM and 11 PM on Doordarshan(Madhya Pradesh)
