Happy World Poetry Day with Chandni Asnani

When a reader enters the pages of a book of poetry, he or she enters the world where dreams transform the past into knowledge made applicable to the present, and where visions shape the present into extraordinary possibilities for the future.

A picture from last year. Can you see me in black? Haha!

Today on World Poetry Day I want to wish all the poets and poetess that they are doing a great job by contributing their thoughts in the society in all the possible ways. And of course, to all the voracious readers who reads our work and appreciate it. It means A LOT. And I mean it! 🙂

Last year along with one of the literary groups I had celebrated this day by reciting a poem which was written by Chandni/Chandu, for me. She calls me sir. Sumit Sir.

So I started reciting my poem by saying, this poem is not my poem. Actually, this poem is dedicated to me by a girl who’s name is Chandni Asnani. She’s not my friend, my girlfriend, my sister, or my BFF but she’s more than that. A crazy follower/girl/sweetheart with crazy dreams in her mind. A girl who wants to learn everything and implement at the same time.  The most important thing is, she respects me and my advice a lot. So the poem goes something like this:

What is LOVE?

Dear Sumit Sir,

No words are ever able to describe,

What my heart feels for you.

Everything comes back into place,

Whenever I am with YOU.

With you, LOVE isn’t just a word,

It’s the care, it’s the fights,

It’s the laughter, it’s the cries,

It’s not always about being right.

It’s looking beyond all the follies,

It’s the phase of mutual sorries! 😂

Your name wipes away all my fears,

A word with you dries up all my tears.

With you, my life blooms like a flower,

You are my guiding angel, my biggest power!

You are my biggest mentor,

With you, I’ll grow more & more.

I’ll make you feel proud,

I’ll stand out of the crowd.

Success will surely come bit by bit,

And You’ll be the reason, I won’t quit.

We ain’t best friends, we ain’t lovers,

Every word seems so little,

When I wanna describe you.

People keep asking, What is Love?

I just got one word, Love is YOU! ☺

Chandni Asnani

Here’s a video of the same- What is love? by Chandni Asnani

And the another poem which I had recited was from Mana Di from Ahmedabad. She asked me to recite her poem in the event and it was my pleasure to do that on behalf of her. 🙂

I could have recited my own poetry but I was honored to read out what this girl had written in front of everyone. Here goes the second poem-

“MIRACLES” by Mana Shah

Some miracles are so small that you cannot always see them.

Just like a sprout coming out of the earth,

Like a bird coming out of the egg,

Like a child recognizing her mother’s voice,

Like like a pet knowing your smell,

Like finding the exact word for an expression,

Like mixing colours to get a desired shade,

Like capturing a long-sought shot,

Like hitting the perfect chord of music,

Like winning someone’s trust,

Like realising that together you’ve done it,

Like the slow healing of your heart,

Like letting yourself flow once again,

Like opening the closed doors,

Like the first ray of light warming you,

Like something touching strings of your heart,

Like letting the inner music play itself,

Like unknown understanding of someone,

Like breathing in the present air,

Like confession of two souls.

Yes, some miracles are so small that none could see them,

And yet, they are miracles.

Mana Shah

It got featured in multiple newspapers the next day. I am sharing on with you. 🙂

    1. Hi Aatif,

Well, personally I don’t believe in the provision of guest post. I think if you are good at what you are writing then probably you should not think about the followers. If not today, then definitely tomorrow you are going to have a lot of readers of your work.

Still, if you want to I can let you meet a few people/bloggers who can actually help you in it.
